My name is Dr. Melanie Crites-Bachert of the 360 Pelvic Health Institute in Gresham, Oregon. I created this video series in order to share my knowledge, expertise, and experience of urology and pelvic health conditions with the public... I'd also like my patients (and potential future patients) to know my "human" side, away from the clinician's office and operating room. To all of you, welcome!

I received my medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003. I then went on and completed my Surgical Residency in Urology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey, and then completed a Fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida before moving to Oregon to be with my husband and dog. I created the 360 Pelvic Health Institute out of my passion to address these delicate (but extremely common) issues that disrupt daily life! I am board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and I am also a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. I treat both female AND male incontinence conditions with a variety of treatment options for nearly every condition, and I work with my patients to create a treatment option that helps to restore quality of life. I am actively involved in research, and have published papers concerning various incontinence treatments. I also teach other physicians who want to learn more about how to address incontinence conditions as well! I am happy to say, Portland, Oregon has become a national training site for Interstim therapy! I have a highly qualified team that has helped place me in the top 5% of physicians in the nation to use Interstim therapy as a treatment option for urinary and fecal incontinence. I have developed a unique technique for achieving a 92% success rate with Interstim therapy, and continue to learn from each and every Implant performed! To me, this is a very exciting treatment option as urinary and fecal incontinence can be very disruptive to daily life and decrease quality of life. I am happy to teach other physicians my “secrets to success” if it helps just one person live a more fulfilled life!
